Other Factors that Influence Pool Temps
- Weather conditions, past and present
- Pool’s daily sun exposure (March through September have the longest daylight hours).
- Wind volume and relative humidity
- Size of pool (depth, volume and surface area)
- Availability of a cover/solar blanket for overnight covering
Our Pool Heating Policies
Arizona Vacation Home Rentals highly recommends pool heating October to May. The following information explains our pool heating policies:
- Pool heating fees are a daily rate and determined by the size of the home and pool.
- When you pay for pool heat we guarantee 80°F and often can elevate the temps a few degrees higher.
- It takes about 24 hours to heat a pool to the guaranteed temp of 80°F.
- Most of the time we require heating for a minimum of 4 days.
- We can and do heat pools if guests change their minds and want to add heat after arriving. Keep in mind that time enjoying the pool will be shorter due to the time required to elevate the temps.
- Evaporation is a major cause of heat loss; pools should be covered when not in use and especially overnight. Many of our home’s pools have covers and we recommend keeping them covered when you’re not swimming.
- Based on our reviews, few if any guests think pool heat is a waste of money.
Heating Spas and Hot Tubs
- When guests request and pay for pool heat, heating an in-ground spa is included.
- Guests who do not pay for pool heat will need to pay a small daily fee to heat the in-ground spa.
- Hot tubs that sit on the ground are heated for guests and there are no additional fees.
- Ideal spa and hot tub temps are approximately 104°F.
- To maintain the temp, hot tubs should be covered when not in use.
