Looking for a grand escape from city lights, noise and congestion? Longing to connect with geography rich in scenic and historic value? Experience this and more in our 3 BR, 2 bath home on 5 acre lot surrounded by pristine Pinyon-juniper woodlands and savannas. Welcome to a home that offers a lovely and even romantic retreat to Arizona's northwestern paradise without sacrificing the comforts of home.

One story home is 18 miles from Seligman, the town where Arizona's historic Route 66 begins. It includes a living room with charming wood fire place and family room with large satellite television. Both rooms are furnished to be comfortable and homey for all who visit. Custom kitchen is completely stocked and has stainless steel appliances and island for preparing or serving food. Dining room has lovely large wooden table with seating for 8. Many windows and double doors add natural light to all rooms and opportunities to glimpse flora and fauna.

Split bedroom floor plan enhances privacy. Master bedroom has king bed, satellite TV, antique storage units and private bath with garden tub, walk in shower and dual vanities. Second and third bedrooms have queen beds and share a bathroom with a tub/shower combination. There are televisions in both guest bedrooms with DVD capabilities only. Fully equipped and separate laundry room includes washer and dryer for keeping wardrobe ready for the next adventure.

Home features good Verizon coverage, satellite television and complete Internet access. Home is on a dirt road and there are occasional days when snow permits access only with a 4 wheel drive vehicle. Parking near home accommodates 5-6 vehicles. Wrap around deck has amazing views of mountains and savanna dotted with junipers. Native animals that may be observed include Mule Deer, elk, Sage Grouse, Shrikes, Golden Eagles and Burrowing Owls. Wood burning fire pit with rustic benches will take you back to your camping memories of s'mores and story telling by an outdoor fire.

Home is situated just off I 40 for quick access to a myriad of exciting activities. Hikers, bikers and horseback riders will fall in love with nearby trails and scenery. Seligman (18 miles from home) marks the beginning of the longest stretch of Route 66 still in existence today and is a popular spot to take a detour to the Grand Canyon via I 40. The Seligman Historic District retains a sizable collection of auto-related and railroad-related architecture. Other day trips from home might include riding the Grand Canyon Railway from Williams (town is approximately 60 miles from home) to the Grand Canyon, exploring the South Rim of the Grand Canyon (approximately 120 miles away) or spelunking in the Grand Canyon Caverns which are approximately 45 miles away. Aubrey Valley and Cliffs (30 miles form Seligman) have been declared important bird areas by Audubon and are also home to a large prairie dog colony and black footed ferrets. Mountains to the to the east, deserts to the west and Mesa Valley to the south: there is something for everyone in this northwestern wonderland.

To help you with packing, the average temperatures are as follows:

Summer -  85 high, 55 low

Spring/Fall -  70 high, 40 low

Winter -  55 high, 25 low

Please note that in and around Seligman there are six restaurants, one liquor store and two gas stations with basic staples such as milk, bread, eggs, beer and wine. There are no larger grocery stores and the nearest pharmacy or medical facility is in Kingman or Williams (60+ miles away).
